I fear that this might not be a terribly inspired suggestion, but I would recommend that you talk to your mailing house. They will be experts is all things poly and will have had direct experience of most of the options. If you don't get constructive feedback from your mailing house, then it would worth talking to others.

Thanks James - we've pinged an email down to them, but was just wondering in the meantime whether anyone else in the industry had any other comments to make. I'm surprised it's not something we've done before (at least in the five years I've been here), and bar copies of Marketing Week we don't have any other samples in the office to show to publishers.

On reflection, I would also recommend contacting Ian Phillips. He's written for us a number of times. He was group circulation manager at Emap, and now works for DHL Global Mail. He would probably be able to point you in the right direction. I haven't got his details to hand, but I'm sure if you contact DHL direct, they will put you through ...
