Condé Nast appoints COO

Sabine Vandenbroucke: "I’m looking forward to playing a key part in driving the business forward."

“Vandenbroucke has extensive experience in shaping and implementing strategy in a transformational media environment in addition to day to day management across diverse business operations. With this appointment Condé Nast Britain is well placed to drive extensive and sustainable growth, also ensuring the greatest efficiencies,” commented Read.

Vandenbroucke added: “I’m thrilled to be joining Condé Nast, a publisher I’ve long admired, with its authoritative, exciting and entertaining media brands, and I’m looking forward to playing a key part in driving the business forward. It’s a dynamic climate and one in which Condé Nast is strategically positioning itself to maximise growth potential.”

Currently Winkorp’s Chief Financial Officer, the parent company of Monocle and Winkreative, Sabine Vandenbroucke studied business engineering and philosophy before completing her MBA at INSEAD. A Belgian native who speaks four languages, she joined Winkreative in 2005 as CFO, assuming a position on the company’s board a few years later. Today Vandenbroucke is also in charge of investor relations and acquisitions, as well as serving as Chief of Operations for the company’s publishing arm, which she helped to establish. Vandenbroucke currently splits her time between Winkreative’s head office in Zürich and its London office and creative studio at Midori House in Marylebone. Previously Vandenbroucke held international executive positions in Cologne, Maastricht and Paris.

The Chief Operating Officer, a new role for Condé Nast Britain, will report to the Managing Director, and the remit includes direct oversight of Finance, Legal, IT, Production, Property and Editorial Business. Vandenbroucke will take up her new position on 25th September. This appointment follows the recent news that Simon Gresham Jones joins Condé Nast as Chief Digital Officer in September. These are two significant appointments made by Albert Read in his new role as Managing Director, signalling a clear direction of travel for the business, says the company.
