Future to launch Practical Photoshop magazine

Future, the special-interest media group, has announced the launch of Practical Photoshop, a new monthly magazine dedicated to helping readers improve their skills in Adobe Photoshop.

Aimed at photographers and creative computer users, Practical Photoshop demystifies the process of improving digital images. Creating sensational imagery from scratch is made simple by its no-nonsense and engaging approach, say the publishers.

Launching on 2nd June, Practical Photoshop is a premium product featuring an interactive covermounted disc packed with accompanying video lessons for every technique in the magazine. Every issue also includes inspirational step-by-step guides to all aspects of Photoshop, Q&As with leading Photoshop experts, tips and techniques, regular reader challenges and more.

Editor Ben Brain says: “Practical Photoshop’s smartly written, straight-talking tutorials with accompanying video lessons will empower readers to unleash their creativity. As well as simplifying the challenges of post-processing and image manipulation, we will inspire our readers by showcasing stunning images in our galleries.”

Group Publisher Matt Pierce says: “Practical Photoshop is a natural fit for our Digital Creative portfolio. Our research showed clear consumer appetite for a bigger, better title that helps photographers and creative computer users get more from their favourite software.

"Adobe Photoshop is the world's most popular image-editing software, and there are always new techniques and tricks to learn. With Practical Photoshop's unique combination of video and print tutorials, these techniques will be brought to life for digital creatives of all skill levels.

According to Future, the company is already a Photoshop authority, with a successful multi-platform Digital Creative portfolio that includes titles like Digital Camera, Computer Arts and ImagineFX as well as the world’s largest online photography contest, Digital Camera’s Photographer of the Year. The launch of Practical Photoshop follows a best-selling series of Photoshop-focused bookazines and specials.

The first issue of Practical Photoshop goes on sale on 2nd June, priced at £5.99 and including a covermounted video disc. It will also be available digitally via Zinio.
