New Editor for Gardens Illustrated

Immediate Media, the special interest content and platform company, has appointed Lucy Bellamy as the new Editor of its garden design title, Gardens Illustrated.

New Editor for Gardens Illustrated

Lucy Bellamy: "It's a huge privilege to join such highly regarded magazine that is a world leader in its field."

Lucy leads the editorial teams across the monthly print title and www.gardensillustrated.com reporting to Gardens Illustrated Publisher Marie Davies.

Lucy joins Gardens Illustrated from Bauer Media where she was a member of the launch team and Gardening Editor at Modern Gardens. Previously she has worked as a freelance garden journalist for The Guardian, Grow Your Own, Kitchen Garden and Garden News magazines and as a commercial horticultural copywriter. Lucy studied the R.H.S. certificate whilst working as a teacher and then took a diploma in Plants and Plantsmanship at Chelsea Physic Garden. Her first book, Brilliant and Wild, about new perennial planting in smaller spaces, will be published in 2018.

Lucy says: "I'm incredibly excited to join Gardens Illustrated as Editor. As the most influential and aspirational style guide to beautiful gardens, it is essential reading for passionate gardeners everywhere. It's a huge privilege to join such highly regarded magazine that is a world leader in its field."

Marie Davies says: “We are delighted to welcome Lucy onto the Gardens Illustrated team. She brings a wealth of horticultural knowledge, a long-term passion and understanding of our audience which will enable us to continue taking this well respected brand from strength to strength.”

Lucy will take up her new post in March 2017.
