Both magazines have used Videobuilder to create branded TV players (Canoe & Kayak TV and Model Railways Live TV) which editorial teams have filled with their own video as well as user generated video from across sites such as YouTube and Vimeo.
Warner’s Group advertising sales teams will now monetise their magazine’s players by charging advertisers to add their existing video content or sponsor one of their player’s 8 channels. Plans to run video competitions to encourage user generated video content that can be Tweeted, emailed and added to Facebook are also being planned.
“Using Videobuilder allows us to curate and aggregate some of the best video content from across the web into a premium branded media space which we can then monetize. There’s some truly amazing content out there, and it’s now on our site, entertaining our readers and creating revenue.” said Chris Duffill, Digital Editor, Model Railways Live.
“The volume of video content on the web is now so overwhelming that much of it’s overlooked by publishers when it could be on their sites making money. Now publishers like Warners Group Publications can act as curators and create a unique viewing experience that engages both their readers and advertisers.” said Andrew Petherick, Director of Video Direct.
