KM Group relaunches Monday paper for Medway

KM Group's Monday edition of Medway Messenger now has fresh, bright new look that retains all the qualities of a traditional KM Group paid-for title.

Still priced at just 50p, the paper sports a more modern masthead that heralds a bold new style, including distinctive page furniture, new features and a remodelled structure. There is better positioning and space for columnists Nikki White and kmfm Breakfast Congregation presenter Oli Kemp and property and motoring sections have been introduced.

Medway Messenger is the official newspaper of Gillingham FC and was launched at Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre yesterday with Gills star Mark McCammon signing autographs for readers with Oli on hand to greet visitors and take requests for his show.

Also there talking to readers about the revamp was editor Bob Bounds who said: "The paper has been really well received.

"We want to put a spring in the step of our readers on Mondays and for that reason the emphasis will be on a brighter, fresher paper which provides a good amount of positive news about Medway people. That's not to say we won't cover the whole range of news from Medway. But put it this way, it won't be depressing - we want to get Medway started off on the right foot for the week ahead.

"The aim is to be different from our Friday paper, which is a fabulous and substantial package at the end of the week and lasts the whole weekend."
