Annabelle Dickson appointed Chairman of the Newspaper Conference

Annabelle Dickson, Eastern Daily Press and East Anglian Daily Times political editor, has been appointed chairman of the Newspaper Conference representing London editors and political correspondents of NS member regional newspapers.

As reported by the Newspaper Society: She replaces Jack Blanchard who is leaving the regional lobby to take up a role with the Daily Mirror’s politics team in Westminster.

Annabelle joined the Eastern Daily Press as a trainee in 2008, where she was the deputy chief reporter in King’s Lynn and latterly the business writer. She returned to Archant to join the lobby in March 2013, after a stint on the Press Association city desk.

Annabelle said: “I am looking forward to representing the interests of the local press industry in Westminster and continuing to make the case for better access to politicians for regional journalists.”

At an extraordinary general meeting of the Newspaper Conference this week, political correspondent for The Sunday Post James Millar was elected deputy chairman of the Newspaper Conference.
