Vicky Macey: “I’m so proud to be taking on this role at such a pivotal moment."

Full Fat Things (FFT), a UK-based digital agency who work with B2B media, publishing and e-commerce customers, has announced that Vicky Macey has been appointed managing director, taking on day-to-day leadership of the agency as it enters its next phase of growth. The announcement coincides with the launch of Full Stack Things, a new modular publishing platform purpose-built for professional and trade publishers.

Macey moves into the role after several years as chief operating officer at FFT, where she has led the agency's financial and operational foundations while building its reputation in the publishing sector, says the company. Founder Stew Robinson, who has led the agency since founding it in 2010, becomes Founder & CEO, focusing on strategy, the next phase of growth and the company's long-term direction.

"Vicky has been instrumental in building the operational backbone that's let us grow steadily and sustainably," said Stew Robinson, founder & CEO of Full Fat Things.

"I’ve known and worked with Full Fat Things for well over a decade on both sides of the desk - first as a repeat customer, then as COO. I’m so proud to be taking on this role at such a pivotal moment," said Vicky Macey, managing director of Full Fat Things.

Full Stack Things is a B2B-focused, modular platform aimed squarely at the operational and commercial challenges facing professional and trade publishers today - from audience registration and retention to monetisation and reporting. Built on an open-source foundation which is core to the Full Fat Things ethos, it gives publishers a modern content management and audience platform without the vendor lock-in that comes with proprietary systems, the company continued.

The company says the platform brings together, in a single connected system, the capabilities publishers have typically had to stitch together from multiple vendors: a flexible, component-based Layout Builder for building pages and content without developer support; built-in A/B testing; progressive registration and frictionless, passwordless login; native newsletter creation and sending; an integrated paywall and subscription layer; and audience monetisation tools including lead scoring, lead tracking and dwell-time analytics.

"We figured out we were building solutions to the same set of challenges facing publishers as they continue to evolve their business models at pace. Instead of starting from scratch each time, we have worked out a way to make a complete tech stack replicable and accessible to publishers of all shapes and sizes without major upfront investment or upkeep.", said Vicky Macey.

Full Stack Things draws directly on FFT's long-standing work in the publishing sector, where the agency has delivered platforms and ongoing development for titles and organisations including TTG Media, Key Publishing, and Everyone TV's Freeview and Freesat services, among others.

The leadership change and product launch both follow a sustained period of growth for Full Fat Things, during which the agency says it has expanded its publisher client base, invested in its delivery team, and strengthened its operational processes to prepare for its next stage of growth without compromising the close, senior-led client relationships at the heart of the business.

“The business has grown around a super-talented pool of people over the past 16 years - many from the media world, from The Economist, informa and The Mirror Group to name but a few. And I can’t wait to see what we can do next”, said Stew Robinson, CEO & founder of Full Fat Things.
