Company creates digital special for September issue

Company magazine is offering its readers totally different print and digital front covers for its September (Ibiza) issue.

In a first for the industry, says Hearst, a special interactive black and white front cover has been designed as an Apple Newsstand ‘special’.

The digital cover, in contrast to the traditional printed cover, features a striking image of Whitney Port. Digital readers can click straight through to behind-the-scenes footage of the cover shoot hosted on www.Company.co.uk/whitney. Here they will also find exclusive content of Whitney’s beauty secrets, her style file and behind-the-scenes cover shoot images.

“Company girls love consuming their favourite magazine on their iPads and iPhones,” said Victoria White, Editor of Company magazine. “We therefore wanted to offer them something bespoke that has never been done before, by making our digital edition the new ‘collectable’ as per coveted subscriber copies. Apple Newsstand provides the perfect platform for us to do this - to be more innovative and ground-breaking.”

The September (Ibiza) issue cements Company’s partnership with Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model and marks the start of three months worth of coverage for the TV show. As one of the main judges this year, Whitney Port appears on the cover and has been photographed by Daniel Nadel across six pages inside the magazine. The sponsorship continues in the October and November issues respectively where the finalists and the overall winner model for the young fashion title.

The September issue is also Company’s ‘Ibiza Issue’ – the fifth consecutive year the magazine has been produced on the white isle.

The September (Ibiza) issue of company magazine is on sale on 7th August.
