Damon Hill to steer the first FT Run to Monaco

Formula 1 World Champions from past to present will take part in the first ever Financial Times supercar experience – the FT Run To Monaco.

The exclusive event will see former F1 champion Damon Hill leading the participants in a fleet of luxury supercars on a route from London, through France and culminating at the Monaco Grand Prix 2012.

The private event, organised by The Run To Global Ltd in partnership with the FT, will take place over five days beginning with an opening speech by Damon Hill and a car blessing ceremony at Hampton Court Palace before guests head over the Channel. Along the way drivers will get a chance to emulate their racing heroes by taking part in sprint challenges on track, be treated to the finest cuisine and hospitality and get behind the scenes access to the Formula 1 World Champions at the Red Bull Energy Station for the weekend.

Ben Hughes, Global Commercial Director and Deputy CEO of the Financial Times, said: “The FT Run to Monaco is an exciting new initiative for us and offers our readers a unique experience and access to one of the most exclusive motoring events in the world.”

Damon Hill, winner of the 1996 World Drivers Championship and Run To ambassador, said: “The Run To Monaco will be the ultimate ticket to the world’s most glamorous race. This event has been planned with meticulous detail for many months so entrants can be sure of getting the maximum enjoyment from a private run across beautiful parts of France, first class hospitality and exclusive driving experiences along the way. The highlight will be a unique insight into F1 at its best at the Monaco Grand Prix.”
