Dennis Publishing’s Cyclist goes on sale

The launch issue of Dennis Publishing’s Cyclist hit the newsstand yesterday. The magazine is aimed at the road cycling market, with a focus on high quality photography and in-depth articles.

Issue one includes cycling travel features on the Swiss Alps and Berlin, profiles of Bradley Wiggins and Ernesto Colnago, and expert commentary on the latest bikes, wheels and clothing.

The magazine is on sale for £5 in major retailers including Sainsbury’s, Tesco, WH Smith High Street, WH Smith Travel, Asda, Morrison’s, Waitrose and all good independent newsagents. Retail listings are further supported by promotional activity across all leading retailers and 55,000 copies have distributed.

Publishing Director James Burnay said: “The first issue is the culmination of many months of hard work from the Cyclist team. We’ve been looking at the cycling market for years, and at the start of the 2012 identified a genuine gap in the market for a premium cycling title. The latest figures from our subscriptions department appear to show we’ve struck a chord.”

Editor Pete Muir added: “Everyone we’ve spoken to across the industry has been incredibly receptive and really enjoyed the early pages we’ve shown them. Reader feedback has been extremely positive since subscriber copies landed with a flurry of supportive emails, tweets and comments. We really believe we’ve created something special and it seems our readers do as well”.

Cyclist is also available digitally via Pixelmags, and a fully interactive iPad app will be on soon.

The next issue of Cyclist is on-sale from October 17th for £5.
