evo chooses new licensing partner in Italy

evo, Dennis Publishing’s performance car magazine, is to be licensed in Italy by Edisport Editoriale. Previously licensed by ACIMondadori, evo Italia will relaunch this month under the new management.

evo Italia will relaunch with its first issue by Edisport Editoriale hitting the shelves on June 30th with a cover price of 5.90 euro. The print magazine will be supported by a website and an accompanying app will follow soon.

Ian Bedwell, Dennis Publishing’s International Licensing Director said: “2014 was already off to a good start for evo magazine with 17 licensed editions in place. To continue publishing evo in Italy with Edisport Editoriale further strengthens the brand’s position both at home and abroad.

In the last 12 months we have seen launches in India, China and Australia, and we will continue this success with more launches in the coming months.”

Geoff Love, Publishing Director, evo, said: “The continued success of evo and the variety of launches we’ve had across the world underlines how the brand’s fantastic content translates. We had six parties vying to be awarded the licence in Italy, and Edisport Editoriale were appointed because of their passion for the brand, and their plans to develop it over the coming years.’

Piero Bacchetti, CEO and Owner of Edisport Editoriale, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Dennis Publishing to launch evo in Italy. We have worked closely with the UK team to ensure we do this iconic brand justice with our launch issue.”

The Italian edition of the magazine will be headed up by Fabio Madaro, current editor of the publisher’s automotive title, Automobilismo. Madaro, said: “I am very proud to be chosen to edit evo in Italy. evo is

a unique magazine that manages to convey the thrive of driving through fantastic editorial and images. It will be great to have both brands being published side by side here at Edisport.”
