Families were given a chance to meet sporting legends such as Olympic gold medal rowers Katherine Grainger and Matthew Pinsent; rugby players Austin Healey, Martin Johnson and Will Greenwood; and tennis player Tim Henman. Children were given the opportunity to receive hands-on coaching from sporting heroes, compete in rowing competitions, attend musical performances and more.
Ben Hughes, global commercial director and deputy chief executive of the Financial Times, said: “Fostering an active lifestyle with young people is important to the FT – they are our future readers, writers, and leaders. I strongly believe that we can all take inspiration from these role models in sport, whatever our vocation.”
