FT Group appoints Silvia Pavoni
Silvia Pavoni: “I can’t wait to get started.”

In this role, The Financial Times Group says Pavoni will lead editorial coverage for the flagship 98-year-old publication, which provides economic and financial intelligence for banking professionals globally and has built a reputation for objective and incisive reporting.

“This is a pivotal moment for The Banker. We’ve just gone through a complete digital overhaul to meet the needs of our readers and help them make better decisions in a fast-changing environment. Silvia is the perfect person to drive the next stage of The Banker’s evolution,” said Graeme Davies, FT specialist managing editor.

He continued: “Under Silvia’s leadership, The Banker will continue to stay on top of new banking trends and emerging technologies and ensure we continue to deliver data, analysis and expert opinion in the most effective way.”

Pavoni joined the FT Group in 2005 and has been on assignment in over two dozen countries, including as economics editor for The Banker. Most recently, she was the founding editor of Sustainable Views, a service by FT Specialist providing readers with insight into how environmental, social and governance principles are reshaping capital, and into the emerging sets of policy and regulations driving this change.

“Leading a title with such a long history is a true privilege,” said Pavoni. “I can’t wait to get started.”
