Go Trail magazine relaunches

Go Trail, the online trail running magazine has relaunched, and introduced paid-for subscriptions.

According to the publishers: With the expanding interest in trail and ultra-trail running around the world, Go Trail magazine, an online global trail running publication, continues to evolve its focus on the culture and lifestyle of what is fast becoming the quickest growing segment of the outdoor market. Currently celebrating its 10th issue, this purely digital publication has re-launched itself, moving swiftly away from the flash-based online publishing platforms to create a fully integrated, HTML-based magazine.

“We wanted to create a unique new look that was engaging for both our readers and stakeholders” says Go Trail founder and editor James Hallett. “With the new format, we’re able to include much more rich media and social networking elements directly into the the pages of the publication, allowing us to create a “3 dimensional” online magazine experience, something we believe goes above and beyond the traditional editorial component. For the advertiser it’s an opportunity to not only visually showcase brands and products, but also to engage with their online community.”

Having remained a free publication for its previous 9 issues, Go Trail magazine has also taken the bold step towards paid-for subscriptions, introducing 2 very affordable subscription plans. Readers will be able to sign up and pay for their subscriptions directly from the Go Trail website, allowing them to create a user account and gain exclusive access to all issues including “special edition” issues and back issues.

“Just like our print cousins, digital magazine publishers need to remain true to the quality content that is being produced. All of our editorial content has a value attached to it and for us to continue to give it away for free doesn't do the publication or the industry any justice” says James.
