Good Food teams up with Blippar for interactive Easter issue

The April issue of BBC Good Food magazine is an interactive special with readers able to design their own magazine cover with the help of Blippar technology.

After downloading the Blippar App and pointing their smartphone or tablet at the magazine, readers can enjoy a host of interactive content on their device including:

• Cookery videos featuring the Good Food team;

• Behind-the-scenes content showing how the amazing Rainbow cake cover was created;

• Making their own Good Food cover, featuring a photograph of any recipe created.

According to BBC Good Food magazine editor, Gillian Carter: “We are always keen to offer readers new inspiration for cooking at home. This month we have a stunning Rainbow cake on the cover plus the excitement of some new technology, allowing readers a glimpse of the activity behind the scenes of our cover shoot. There are also plenty of other ways to use your smartphone or tablet to view extra practical content from the BBC Good Food magazine team.”

Stephen Shaw, Blippar's Head of Media Partnerships said: "It's been a joy to work with BBC Good Food Magazine on this Blippar edition. We have benefitted from the fact that Good Food's readers are already 'app-savvy' given the massive popularity of the Good Food Apps for smartphone and tablets. Successful Blipps will ultimately be defined by the quality of the Blippable content delivered to the end-user and Good Food's world-class photography and video will make this an extremely attractive proposition.”

Also in this month’s Easter special magazine:

• Top tips for baking in ‘The Great Easter Bake Off’ with stunning cakes from Paul Hollywood; Mary Berry and the BBC’s Great British Bake Off champions;

• Teach children a life skill with a series of step-by-step recipes;

• A brand new series called ‘My kitchen garden’ with Jane Hornby charting her new life in the country.

BBC Good Food magazine is on sale now, priced at £3.70.
