Good Housekeeping launches first iPad app

Good Housekeeping, the women’s lifestyle magazine published by Hearst Magazines UK, has launched its first-ever iPad app in the UK – Cakes And Bakes.

Cakes And Bakes is the first of its kind to be developed and built entirely in house by Good Housekeeping and allows readers to access and engage with the magazine whenever and wherever.

Priced at 69p, Cakes And Bakes features 35 easy-to-make baking recipes illustrated with show-stopping photos. Each recipe has been triple-tested by the trusted Good Housekeeping Institute to guarantee success every time.

Cakes And Bakes is the first of a series of planned apps by Good Housekeeping and has been developed in line with recent research which shows that UK consumers are replacing their cook books with apps.

Good Housekeeping Editorial Director Lindsay Nicholson says, “I’m delighted to be able to bring our readers a new and convenient way to access the best recipes from Good Housekeeping. The recipes have been triple-tested by the Good Housekeeping Institute to guarantee success every time. The Cakes And Bakes app is just the first of many to be produced by Good Housekeeping, so watch this space!”

Publishing Director, Lifestyle Group, Judith Secombe says: “As the UK’s leading women’s lifestyle magazine and consumer champion, Good Housekeeping is committed to providing its readers with inspirational articles and trusted advice. A lot of research and testing has gone into the launch of our first ever app and alongside our bookazines and other branded products, we’re confident Cakes And Bakes will be a huge success.”
