Grazia announces new Fashion Director

Grazia magazine UK has announced Susannah Frankel as its new Fashion Director, succeeding launch Style Director Paula Reed.

Heading up Grazia’s pioneering, dynamic fashion team, Susannah (pictured) will report directly to Grazia’s Editor-in-Chief, Jane Bruton.

Susannah will step down from her current role as Fashion Editor of The Independent, The Independent on Sunday and The Independent ‘i’ where she has worked for the last 13 years.

During her time at the Independent Susannah has interviewed every fashion designer from the young and emerging to the established greats, Miuccia Prada, Vivienne Westwood, Karl Lagerfeld, Tom Ford, Donatella Versace and many more among them. She has consistently upheld a high standard of writing and photography and a viewpoint that is both intelligent and influential, says Grazia.

Susannah has also been the Fashion Features Director of AnOther Magazine since 2000 and has contributed to Dazed & Confused, showstudio.com, Vogue UK, Vogue Russia, Vogue China and W Magazine.  Before joining The Independent, Susannah was the Fashion Editor at The Guardian.

Commenting on the appointment, Jane Bruton said: “We are thrilled to have someone of Susannah’s calibre join the senior team at Grazia; she brings a wealth of experience as well as the relationships she has formed in the fashion industry that go back over 15 years.  Her energy, ideas and passion for Grazia just blew me away, and I look forward to seeing her vision come to life as we enter an exciting new chapter for the magazine.”

Susannah added: “Grazia is a wonderful place to celebrate fashion, to communicate its huge scope and show how inspiring, entertaining and uplifting it can be. I am really delighted to be joining the magazine.”
