Harriet Cooper is new editor of The London Magazine

Cedar has announced that Harriet Cooper is the new editor of The London Magazine – the lifestyle and property title.

With a strong background in premium magazines, Harriet (pictured) brings a raft of experience to the role. She began her career at Hello! in 1998, moving on to become features commissioning editor at the London Evening Standard and then features editor of Red magazine.

She joined Cedar in 2007 as deputy editor on British Airways’ High Life and editor of First Life, stepping up to take on the High Life editor's role as maternity cover until September 2012.

The London Magazine is distributed monthly to 85,000 of the capital’s most affluent households and is available on newsstands in Harrods, Selfridges, Waterstones and WH Smith.

Harriet commented, “I am absolutely delighted to have joined The London Magazine. I’ve lived in London all my life and, in my view, there’s no greater place. This is a title that truly celebrates the city’s vast wealth of talent and energy, and I’m looking forward to working with the fantastic Cedar team to produce ground-breaking covers and editorial content across the arts, food, fashion, design and, of course, property.”

Editor-in-chief Maureen Rice said, “Harriet has an instinctive understanding of the alchemy that makes London the best city in the world. She is an originator, not a follower, and brings not just a wealth of experience but a brilliantly fresh approach to what ‘luxury’ really means now.”

The February issue of The London Magazine, featuring Paloma Faith on the cover, is out now.
