Imagine launches eBook portfolio on Google Play

Now live on Google Play, Imagine Publishing has brought its entire technology eBook range to the global online digital outlet, with all current 35 titles also natively available on the brand new Google 7” Nexus 7 tablet.

Covering a wide range of technology and knowledge/science topics this is the first time Imagine’s eBook brands have been available direct from the Android based app ‘Google Play’ store, which comes pre-loaded on all Android smartphones and tablets, such as the ground-breaking, Samsung Galaxy S3 and Google’s own ‘iPad killer’ tablet Nexus 7. Available in the US, UK, Canada, Germany, Italy, Australia, Spain and France via Google Play this represents a significant step forward for Imagine’s internationalisation and digitisation strategy.

“Ensuring our products are available to buy on Google Play is a major milestone for Imagine and further evidence of our ‘Content is King’ strategy of leveraging our high quality digital content internationally,” said Mark Kendrick, Group Creative Director. “The Google and Android brands are particularly hot right now, both in terms of innovation and global reach. I believe the Nexus 7 is the first real challenge to Apple’s near monopoly on tablet reading, and I’m very pleased that Imagine is there to take advantage of this fast-moving marketplace.”

Imagine Publishing claims to have been a pioneer in the way it has progressed from print publisher to global content powerhouse, and it’s this evolution that’s enabling the publisher to spearhead further content expansion onto multiple digital platforms across all key territories.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Google on the launch of our eBooks on Google Play. This development dovetails with our philosophy at Imagine to make our eBooks available to consumers on every tablet and every major digital newsstand platform worldwide. Today’s announcement is another example of what Imagine is all about; offering choice to a global audience hungry to read quality information, no matter where they are in the world,” said Damian Butt, Imagine’s Group Managing Director.
