KM Group unveils major redesign of KentOnline network

The independent, family-owned publisher has relaunched its websites in a responsive format, meaning the layout automatically adjusts for people viewing on mobile or tablet devices to deliver a much-improved user experience.

KentOnline was the UK's fastest-growing regional news network in the most recent ABC reporting period, having seen its monthly audience increase by 94% year-on-year to 914,280 unique browsers, says KM Group.

The new look showcases the depth and breadth of content available from the multimedia publisher, ranging from its breaking news and sports coverage through to business, travel, homes, property, entertainment and its kmfm radio stations.

It also provides greater opportunities for user engagement, with readers able to comment on stories by signing in with their existing social media accounts.

The redesign was managed in-house by the company's digital development team. Editorial director Ian Carter said: "This relaunch represents a significant step forward for our digital portfolio.

"We have been delighted with the huge audience growth we have seen, but are aware of the importance of continually developing our products to meet reader demand."

The group is also reshaping its editorial operations to provide greater online coverage, and is currently recruiting new reporters to capitalise on the increased traffic it is seeing on weekday evenings and weekends.
