Lee Stoddart joins Immediate Media Co as Strategy and Data Director

Immediate Media Co, the special interest content and platform company, has announced the appointment of Lee Stoddart to the newly created position of Strategy and Data Director.

Stoddart joins the Senior Executive team, reporting directly to Immediate CEO Tom Bureau with responsibility for strategic development, transactional revenues and shaping the company’s overall data strategy.

Stoddart joins from Saga/Acromas Group, where he worked with the Board to develop the overall group strategy and worked on many strategic initiatives, including the merger of Saga and the AA, as well as the development of Saga as a market leader of services to the over 50s. Since December, Stoddart has been working on a consultancy basis developing opportunities for Immediate’s enterprise transactional business.

According to Bureau: “We’re delighted that Lee has joined us and believe that his exceptional strategic expertise and understanding of data will be a great asset. We are a content company on a mission to think more like a retailer, and on track to build a significant transactional business. Lee will help shape our thinking in growing a scaled, database led, transactional business.”

According to Stoddart: “I'm absolutely delighted to be joining Immediate Media at a time when it's on a transformational journey - building out its multi-platform approach and developing a strong, customer focused, transactional business based on some iconic brands. There's a terrific buzz and excitement about the company and I'm very much looking forward to working with Tom and the team to help accelerate development.”

Immediate’s enterprise division is building a transactional model through direct engagement with its rich database of customers. The first brand to use this platform is Radio Times Travel, generating impressive revenues, and this model is being rapidly rolled out.

In the last set of Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) figures Immediate retained its leading position as the number one magazine media company in terms of subscriptions with 1,030,000 active subscribers. Immediate’s digital subscriptions were up 106%, says the company.
