Livingetc launches Reveal app on its 15th birthday

Livingetc, IPC’s modern homes magazine, celebrates its 15th birthday in the April issue.

In the issue the brand launches Livingetc Reveal –an exclusive free app available on iPad, iPhone and Android.

Enabling users to preview design classics in their own home by using a smartphone or tablet, the Livingetc Reveal app displays products in real size, from any angle as if they were really there. The app also cleverly allows users to view the furniture in various colours and materials, take photos of the pieces and share via Facebook, Twitter and email as well as read additional information about the products, say the publishers.

Design classics can be viewed in 3-D augmented reality, these include: the Fritz Hansen Egg Chair, Fritz Hansen Series 7 Chair, Eero Saarinen Tulip Dining Table by Knoll International, Eileen Gray E-1027 Side Table and the Lounge Chair and Ottoman by Charles and Ray Eames.

Users detach a tracking marker found in each Livingetc April 2013 issue (UK copies only). To reveal the design classics, users simply place the marker on the floor and aim their mobile device at it.

Livingetc’s editor Suzanne Imre says: “We are very excited here at Livingetc to be able to share this amazing technology with our readers first – in our 15th birthday issue. It’s a great way to see how these design classics will look in your home before perhaps purchasing, or just to play around with the products in your own space."

The app is powered by Sayduck, who provide a Virtual Showroom Platform for brands and retailers, allowing consumers to picture how a product would look in its intended space.

Sayduck founder, Mikko Martikainen says "It's been really exciting for Sayduck to work with Livingetc for their 15th Anniversary issue. This is the first time a large audience can experience the magic of our product and see how fun and useful it can be!"

The April issue and app is available from March 7th.
