Mobile content app to launch at show

Videobuilder has announced it will use Publishing & Media Expo to launch PressApp, a mobile service that lets newspaper and magazine publishers request, receive, moderate and publish user-generated video and photo from readers.

According to Videobuilder, the service consists of a mobile app which publishers can brand and give readers, and a content management area from which editorial teams can message readers’ mobiles to request content. Publishers can also use PressApp to organise their numerous social feeds into their app, and also to moderate and publish the content they receive. Approved content can be published to numerous digital outputs, including Brightcove, YouTube, Flickr, Facebook, WordPress, Twitter, LinkedIn and Tumblr.

Geo-targeted messaging and geo-fencing will also be included, as will various monetisation features for ad sales teams. The PressApp mobile app is available on iPhone and Android.

Demonstrations can be arranged by contacting andrew@videobuilder.tv or visit stand C45 at the show.

PressApp is a user-generated content delivery, management and publishing system. It’s been created by video technology specialist Videobuilder, whose clients include Reed Elsevier, Tindle Newspapers, IPC Media, Bauer Media, UBM, Immediate Media, Wiley, Archant, EMAP, Centaur and IOP Publishing.
