New Champions Matchday Magazine

Haymarket Network has launched Champions Matchday, the official magazine of the UEFA Champions League.

It will be distributed in the UK and 45 overseas territories, complemented by four licensed editions in Bulgaria, Japan, South Korea and Thailand.

The 68-page magazine – out a week before every UEFA Champions League matchday – is the essential accompaniment to football’s hottest ticket, says Haymarket Network. Champions Matchday offers readers exclusive access to the game’s biggest stars, features analysis from Europe’s best football writers, and celebrates the artistry and passion that make the competition so compelling.

Building on the success of the previous Champions magazine, the new frequency allows more timely content: reviews and previews of all the action, and coverage of every club, every match and every group involved in UEFA’s prestigious competition. UEFA President Michel Platini said: “Champions has been revamped for the new season, as we want to keep you up-to-date with the relevant events on and off the field in our premium club competition.”

Haymarket Network will produce 12 issues of Champions Matchday a year for UEFA. The publisher has been working with UEFA since 2003 and has been awarded a three-year contract to produce the magazine across the 2012-15 UEFA Champions League cycle. The official programmes for the UEFA Champions League final, UEFA Women's Champions League final, UEFA Europa League final and UEFA Super Cup are also published by Haymarket Network.

Account director Benjamin Rosser said: “The editorial team have really captured the drama and excitement of the UEFA Champions League. The latest Champions Matchday is timely, topical, insightful and incisive, with a faster pace and, with the extra frequency can, for the first time, give readers the complete story of a UEFA Champions League season.”

Champions Matchday is available on the newsstand and in a digital version. Fans can also keep up to date with what's happening on Twitter @ChampionsMag.
