New Chief Executive appointed for Claverley Group

Claverley Group Chief Executive Graham Evers has announced his intention to retire at the end of March next year. He will continue in his role as Group Deputy Chairman.

His successor next April as Group Chief Executive will be Phil Inman, currently Managing Director of the Midland News Association, publishers of the Express & Star and Shropshire Star evening newspapers, as well as their associated websites and weekly newspapers in the West Midlands and Shropshire.

Also within the Claverley Group is the Telford-based general printing company Precision Colour Printing and Wolverhampton-based publishing software development company Press Computer Systems.

The group includes the Channel Islands company Guiton Publishing, publishers of two daily newspapers, the Jersey Evening Post and the Guernsey Press, currently celebrating its 200th anniversary.

With immediate effect Mr Inman has been appointed to the Claverley Board and will be responsible for all of the group’s publishing activities while retaining the position of MNA Managing Director after next March.

Mr Inman joined the group two years ago, having been in the newspaper business throughout most of his working life.

He commented: “I am delighted to be appointed to this role and look forward to supporting the managing directors as they take their individual businesses forward.”
