News retail service launches for cruise ships

DandG Media have launched a new retail service for cruise ships in the UK, providing magazines and newspapers directly onboard cruise ships.

The service is in response to requests from cruise ships entering the UK for a wide range of magazines for suites, lounges, communal areas and for the crew. Requests have come in the form of foreign newspapers for the cruise passengers on the day of a ship’s arrival to themed cruises on food, architecture and gardening for a range of related magazines.

In order to help make the process easier, DandG Media have partnered with Reach@Citipost to provide a comprehensive list of magazines and newspapers that allows cruise ships, ports and their shipping agents to order in advance small or large quantities of very specific magazine titles. The order system allows the client to search for a title by name or category and is designed to help publishers get their magazines on board cruise ships and promote awareness of the huge number of titles that are available.

With so many details to worry about with turning around a cruise ship, the service aims to take away the hassle from fulfilling crew and passenger requests for magazines while hopefully growing this as a new retail channel for publishers, says DandG Media.
