Paul Davidson, currently chairman and CEO of Newsquest, will continue as Newsquest’s chairman.
Walker spent the past 11 years working at Johnston Press plc, one of the U.K.’s top local media companies. He most recently served as digital and business development director, a role created to build the company’s digital business and to drive digital transformation across the organization.
While at Johnston Press, Walker launched a number of successful digital joint ventures in new markets and built a portfolio of new digital businesses in key verticals while building a powerful digital team. Prior to that role, he was general manager of The Scotsman Publications Ltd.; and earlier was managing director of Johnston Press Ventures.
