The new newspaper will cover the areas of Amersham, Chesham and Little Chalfont following the closure of Reach PLC titles Buckinghamshire Advertiser & Examiner.
Newsquest title Bucks Free Press has been published since 1856 and was named UK Weekly Newspaper of the Year (below 15,000 circulation) at the Regional Press Awards last year. The new edition will be officially launched and available to buy across the area on Friday, February 8.
With more pages, and at 40p cheaper than its predecessor, the new edition will offer great value for money for local shoppers, say the publishers.
It will be the latest product launch for the High Wycombe-based team and will join titles including Bucks Free Press, Marlow Free Press, Buckinghamshire Living and High Wycombe Connect.
Group Editor Andrew Colley said: “This is an extremely exciting time for our team and the wider community. The Bucks Free Press has served our loyal readers for more than 160 years and this decision will hopefully prove our commitment to the Buckinghamshire area. Following the sad news of the closure of the Advertiser & Examiner, we knew it was important to continue their work and ensure people of Amersham, Chesham and Little Chalfont were still represented.”
