Newsworks announces 2017 Planning Awards shortlist

The 2017 Planning Awards shortlist features agencies including OMD, the7stars, Goodstuff, MediaCom and Spark Foundry.

The client-agency jury, led by Zaid Al-Qassab, BT Group's chief brand and marketing officer, whittled down the entries to a shortlist of 39.

Zaid Al-Qassab said: “I have been really impressed by the calibre of entries for this year's Newsworks Planning Awards. In an increasingly complex media landscape, there's more pressure than ever for brands to understand how to use the strength of each channel to influence their audience. The shortlisted entries were able to demonstrate insight, an understanding of context, and creativity to deliver business impact. I look forward to congratulating the winners!”

Vanessa Clifford, CEO of Newsworks, added: “This year, the importance of advertising's context has come to the fore and our 2017 shortlist really demonstrates the original and innovative ways that planners can capitalise on newsbrands' trusted, quality and newsworthy environment. After much debate, our jury have selected a fantastic shortlist and very deserved winners.”

The winners will be announced at a party at the Century Club on Thursday 23 November 2017.
