NME and Spotify partner at festivals

NME, the multiplatform music brand, has announced the next phase of its partnership with digital music service, Spotify, with the launch of the NME Spotify Signing Tent at Reading & Leeds Festival 2012.

Following the successful launch of the NME app within the Spotify site in June, the NME Spotify Signing Tent will give fans the opportunity to get up close and personal with their favourite artists, with a resident NME photographer on hand to capture the moment.

The partnership will be supported by a dedicated hub at www.nme.com/signingtent, where fans will be able to view, download and share photos taken by the NME photographer. In addition, bespoke playlists curated by signing tent artists will be hosted on Spotify, within the NME app, and featured at NME.com/signingtent.

Tim Pearson, NME’s head of Marketing, says: “The NME Spotify Signing Tent provides the ultimate festival experience for the music fan, as they get the chance to meet their heroes and have a photo taken with them. By partnering with our friends at Spotify we’re able to add further value and excitement to the experience with these bespoke playlists, and deliver the widest digital reach the tent has ever had.”

Nikki Lambert, European marketing director at Spotify, adds: “Some of the most exciting artists playing at Reading & Leeds festival 2012 have given us Spotify playlists including the hottest tracks they’re listening to right now. Music fans will be able to listen and subscribe to these playlists on Spotify for free at NME.com/signingtent.”

The Reading & Leeds festival is held 24th - 26th August 2012 at Little John’s Farm in Reading and Bramham Park in Leeds.
