Partwork launch: Star Trek – The Official Starships Collection

Star Trek – The Official Starships Collection, a new fortnightly partwork from Eaglemoss Publications, goes on sale 21 August at the introductory price of £1.99.

According to distributors COMAG: From the first episode of Star Trek in 1966, the various spacecraft from the Star Trek franchise have been popular and iconic. Whether the space station in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, the Voyager in Star Trek: Voyager, to the three incarnations of the Enterprise as seen in Star Trek – The Original Series, Star Trek - The Next Generation or Enterprise, each had their own distinctive vessels.

Star Trek – The Official Starships Collection will bring together all the most significant ships from the five Star Trek franchises. It features a full range of Federation and Alien vessels, including seven incarnations of the Enterprise, all the major Klingon vessels including the Bird-of-Prey, as well as Dominion, Borg and Romulan ships.

Painstakingly recreated in die-cast and high-quality ABS materials, every vessel in the Star Trek – The Official Starships Collection is under license by CBS Consumer Products and has been hand-painted to provide an incredible level of detail.

As well as the model itself, ea issue of Star Trek – The Official Starships Collection will come with a 20-page magazine illustrated with renders of the original VFX models, articles about the design process used to create the ships and information about the various shooting models.

• Issue No.1 (on sale 21 August at the introductory price of £1.99) will have a model of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D from Star Trek: The Next Generation.

• Issue No.2 (on sale 5 September, priced £5.99) will carry a model of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 (2271) as seen in Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

• Issue No.3 (on sale 19 September at the regular price of £9.99) will have a model of a Klingon Bird-of-Prey vessel.

Star Trek – The Official Starships Collection will be backed by a huge TV advertising campaign from launch, as well as e-mail, online and social media promotions.
