Play runs four special edition covers

Imagine Publishing has released a split run of special edition covers for the December issue of its independent PlayStation magazine, Play.

Celebrating the release of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale on PS3 and PS Vita, the four commemorative covers capture the history of Sony’s PlayStation hardware, spotlighting the mascots that have made the brand so vital to Play’s readership.

“PlayStation has given rise to some of the most iconic characters across all forms of media, and I’m proud of the way these four covers represent that,” said Samuel Roberts, Deputy Editor.

“Play has been around since the launch of the original PlayStation, and I feel this is a great tribute to the titles that have come to define Sony’s various platforms over the past 18 years.”

With four covers to choose from, reflecting the heritage of PlayStation’s biggest brands – Nathan Drake of the Uncharted series, Kratos from God Of War, Sackboy from LittleBigPlanet and Raiden from Metal Gear Solid – this issue of Play first reflects the broad array of iconic characters that have debuted on Sony’s hardware since the original PlayStation was first released in 1994, says Imagine Publishing.

Issue 225 of Play is available now at newsagents, travel points, supermarkets and also online at ImagineShop.co.uk. Digital editions can be downloaded from GreatDigitalMags.com.
