Publishing Innovation Conference 2014

The 10th annual Publishing Innovation Conference at London College of Communication (LCC) will explore new approaches to content, consumption and costs in the publishing industry during an evening of free presentations, discussion and debate on Thursday 13 March 2014.

Organised by LCC MA Publishing students and sponsored by Macmillan, this year’s event, Publishing Package, will discuss what factors, choices and decisions need to be considered to assemble publishing packages that are engaging (Content), relevant (Consumer Experience/Delivery) and sustainable (Costs and Publisher’s Returns).

During three panel debates, the audience will participate in an in-depth conversation on how the ever-increasing range of options and choices available for the ‘publishing package’ present publishers and brands with constant new challenges.

Annette Thomas, CEO of Macmillan Science and Education, welcomes the theme saying: "Huge changes, driven by both customer needs and advances in technology, are taking place in the publishing industry. New disciplines must be learned, new techniques must be taken up and developed and new delivery mechanisms must be explored in the digital space we now all occupy."

Speakers confirmed include Andrew Meagher, Global Head of Commercial News Strategy at Thomson Reuters; designer Rob Boynes; Michael Kowalski, founder of Contentment; Holly Fraser, editor for Hunger TV; UX savvy Andy Budd; Alec Dudson, founder of Intern Magazine; Peter Blunt, Digital Process Manager at Egmont UK, and the Creative Strategist from Facebook UK, Alastair Cotterill, amongst others.
