River Group appoints Strategy Director

Alex Marks has joined the River Group’s senior marketing team as the agency’s first Strategy Director.

Alex (pictured) joins River from senior marketing roles at both EBay and Microsoft, and has most recently been running his own successful marketing consultancy. He is a marketing practitioner with strong digital credentials and blogs regularly for The Marketing Society and Brand Republic Group. He has also written a book on social marketing strategy.

Alex will be reviewing and contributing to strategy for both existing and new River clients. The River Group is known for its expertise in creating compelling multichannel content and for bringing marketing expertise to every task, says the company. Alex will be helping River to additionally position itself as THE content strategy expert in the content marketing business.

Commenting on his appointment Alex says: “I’m delighted to be joining River at this time. River is a business in growth with a range of specialisms in house which make it market leading in its ability to answer clients marketing objectives. I’m looking forward to bringing my expertise to bear in supporting that market position.”
