SciFiNow celebrates 50 years of Doctor Who

Imagine Publishing has announced the release of a special Doctor Who 50th Anniversary issue of SciFiNow magazine with specially commissioned original cover art.

SciFiNow issue 86 also features over 20 pages of exclusive Doctor Who coverage, from the classic series of 1963-89 and the 1996 TV movie, to the show’s current incarnation and the eagerly anticipated 50th Anniversary episode, ‘The Day Of The Doctor.’

“Doctor Who is the cornerstone of British science fiction,” said James Hoare, Editor of SciFiNow. “It’s had a huge impact on SciFiNow’s world, on the vibrant SciFiNow reader community and on the passionate team who produce the magazine. As a fan from childhood, it was an honour to see our cover take shape and to curate an array of content that will delight Whovians of all ages.”

“It was a rare privilege to be involved in SciFiNow’s Doctor Who 50th Anniversary issue,” said cover artist Joe Cummings. “What illustrator would not jump at the chance to paint Daleks, Cybermen and the TARDIS, not to mention my favourite doctor, Tom Baker? The whole experience was a joy from start to finish.”

SciFiNow issue 86 includes an exclusive set-visit to the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary episode and interviews with stars David Tennant, Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman, a behind the scenes look at 50th Anniversary docu-drama An Adventure In Space And Time, and in-depth guides to the best of each Doctor’s era, from their stand-out tie-in books and audio adventures to their definitive on-screen villains, storylines and companions.
