Telegraph launches enhanced clearing and coursefinder apps

Building on the success of its exclusive media partnership with UCAS, The Telegraph has announced the launch of its enhanced, newly designed Clearing app for 2013, currently featured on the iTunes’ ‘What's Hot’ list.

The app will enable students to access course, university and location information during the Clearing process and will feature Twitter updates, relevant breaking news stories and an enhanced navigation section, built to make the process of searching, selecting and calling universities seamless, says the Telegraph.

Other new features include a “how to use this app” section so users can preview how the app will work, simplifying their experience.

The Telegraph will also be producing a Clearing supplement within The Daily Telegraph on the 15th, 16th, 17th, 29th August and 5th September, carrying the full university and course listings. Online, The Telegraph will be providing live updates where students can search for places by course, university or location. (Listings will only be available in The Daily Telegraph for England and Wales.)

James Lancaster, Director of Specialist Sales, TMG, said: “In 2012 we achieved more than 17,000 downloads of the Clearing app which goes to show what a valuable and useful service we offer to students at what can often be a difficult and stressful time. The enhancements made and new designs for the 2013 versions of the apps will only serve to make the process smoother.”

The Telegraph will once again be offering all those applying to university for 2014 places access to its Coursefinder app, which has been enhanced to provide not only top level subject areas at universities but individual courses across the UK, offering over 31,000 course options.

Both the Clearing and Course Finder apps are now available on iPhone, Android and have mobile web capability.
