The Courier launches The Menu Food and Drink Awards

The Courier has launched The Menu Food and Drink Awards, a celebration of businesses and individuals in the Tayside area who create “stunning products, dishes and tipples”.

In association with The Courier’s Saturday magazine, The Menu, the Food and Drinks Awards will take place at The Old Course Hotel in March 2018. A five course gala dinner will be served with each course being created by one of five top chefs from across Courier Country, says the organisers.

Catriona MacInnes, Acting Editor of The Courier, said, “We’re thrilled to be showcasing the very best that Courier Country has to offer in the hospitality industry. The local produce coupled with the amazing talent we have is certainly worth shouting about, and what better way to do it than with an amazing five course dinner curated by five of our regions most talented chefs.”

Dinner will be followed by an awards ceremony that will see the best and brightest in the food and drink and hospitality sectors honoured. Categories include coffee shop of the year, street vendor of the year and fine dining restaurant of the year. There will also be a category for pub of the year which is open to nominations from readers of The Courier.

Denise West, Head of Commercial for DCT Media, said, “We’re delighted to be adding The Menu Food and Drink Awards to our events portfolio. This is our first event to celebrate the brilliant food and drink scene we have here in Courier Country. This event will encapsulate the passion that exists for people who love local food and drink.”

The Menu Food and Drink Awards will take place on March 15th, 2018, at The Old Course Hotel. Judges will be announced in The Courier in the coming months.
