The Courier sponsors Jackie The Musical

DC Thomson title, The Courier, will sponsor a production of Jackie The Musical at the Gardyne Theatre, Dundee.

The sponsorship of Jackie The Musical will run for the duration of the production, 19th September to 5th October 2013.

The Courier Assistant Editor Catriona MacInnes said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring Jackie The Musical.

“In its heyday Jackie the magazine was a must-read for a whole generation the length and breadth of the country. That generation has grown up and many are now Courier readers and I am convinced they will love the musical as much as they loved their Jackie.

She added: “The Courier is proud to support a local production with a national cast which will, hopefully, go on to become an international success.”

DC Thomson Head of Brand Consumer Entertainment Tim Collins added, “Jackie is an iconic teen magazine brand and next year it celebrates its 50th anniversary. Jackie The Musical is a great way to honour the magazine’s anniversary.”

Jackie The Musical is produced in association with DC Thomson and is supported by Creative Scotland. The production tells the story of a recent divorcee who seeks advice on how to get a boyfriend from the pages of her old Jackie magazines. She follows the quizzes, the fashion tips and the ‘do’s and don’ts on a first date’ and of course the ‘Cathy and Claire’ problem pages.
