Trinity Mirror launches Bracknell Times

On 24 October, Trinity Mirror launched the Bracknell Times, to replace the Bracknell Forest Standard.

The weekly free title will be available for free pick-up from newsagents, supermarkets, petrol stations and public buildings across the town.

The new paper will feature a bigger entertainment and what’s on section and more sports pages. There will be an increase in community news, more puzzles and horoscopes from celebrity astrologer Russell Grant.

Bracknell MP Dr Phillip Lee will also write a fortnightly column for the paper, letting readers know what he is doing for them in Parliament.

Deputy editor Hilary Scott said: "With the regeneration of Bracknell well under way this is the perfect time to launch the new Bracknell Times, giving people a quality newspaper that is available in so many places in and around the town.

"The small editorial team that has produced it can be proud of the first issue and the work they've put in to create this exciting new newspaper."

The Bracknell Times will be the sister paper to the Wokingham Times which was commended in the UK Weekly Newspaper of the Year category at the 2013 Newspaper Awards.
