Web quotes service launched

A new online service which gives people the chance to find trustworthy labourers from the comfort of their own home has been launched by Archant Norfolk.

In a bid to stop people being conned by rogue traders, the Eastern Daily Press and Evening News have just launched Local Quotes 24, a website which provides free quotes for home improvement services.

The website enables people to get three free quotes from fully vetted tradesmen including painters and decorators, gardeners and plumbers.

Ann Lown, general manager of online classifieds at Archant Regional, said: "This website comes from a trusted brand where people will be able to get quality service in minutes from the comfort of their home."

Ann said: "Consumers have easy access to trusted and vetted local traders to obtain no obligation quotes saving them time and probably money. And it enables local traders to be vetted, register and gain more local business. This ties in very well with the Archant online Business Directory and in Norfolk we're working closely with Andrew Denny and his team to promote sales."

To receive three quotes, people just have to submit one request. Once they have filled in all their details online, they will receive a phone call from a member of staff based at the Norwich headquarters who will check over the information and check for authenticity.

They will then receive their quotes, but if they are not happy with the result there is no obligation to use them.

Other Archant Regional centres will follow using the service before the end of November.
