Zest strikes gold with Olympic cover trio

Zest, the health, fitness and well-being title for women, has secured three Olympic cover stars for its August issue. This is the first time in the magazine’s 17.5-year history that a trio has graced the cover.

Breaking away from its usual tradition of models (with the occasional famous face), readers will find world record cyclist and Zest columnist, Victoria Pendleton, gracing the newsstand. She is joined by hurdler, Perri Shakes-Drayton, and open-water swimmer, Keri-Anne Payne.

As well as being photographed for the cover, all three athletes are interviewed in the magazine about their confidence to aim high, what the Olympics mean to them and how they hope London 2012 will encourage more young women to take up sport.

A behind-the-scenes video of the cover shoot can also be seen at www.zest.co.uk

“We wanted the August issue to truly sum up the spirit of the Games,” said Mandie Gower, Editor of Zest. “One cover star was therefore not enough! Our sportswomen are shaping up not only to be medal-hopefuls, but refreshing and inspiring role models too. We wanted to showcase this to our readers and make Zest/newsstand history at the same time.”

The August issue of Zest went on sale 12th July.
