Marketforce, the newstrade sales, marketing and distribution company, has announced the appointment of Adrian Hughes to the newly-created role of publishing services director.

Effective from 15 October 2012, Adrian (pictured) will take responsibility for the circulation services provided to both IPC and Marketforce’s third party publishers, as well as the delivery of new independent publishing business to the Marketforce portfolio.

Adrian has over 20 years’ experience within the newspaper and magazine industry, having started his career with the wholesaler Smiths News before moving to circulation roles at publisher D.C.Thomson. Adrian joined Marketforce in 1997 and has since held roles in Retail Sales and the Independent Publishing Group (IPG). Adrian says: “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to work again with our independent publishers, as well as continuing with overall responsibility for IPC Circulation. We have brilliant and committed circulation teams and I’m looking forward to supporting them in delivering the sales objectives for all our clients on the UK newsstand.”

At the same time, Dan Fuller is promoted to the role of head of IPC Circulation and will assume day-to-day management responsibility for the department. Dan will continue to report to Adrian Hughes.

Adrian says: “Dan has played a crucial role in IPC Circulation since he joined in 1997. He has worked across both the specialist and weeklies divisions during that time and has played an important role to ensure IPC continues to deliver a market-beating performance on the UK newsstand. His wealth of knowledge and experience will ensure IPC continues to achieve its circulation objectives.”
