The Guild is a UK charity dedicated to educating people of all ages about the world of embroidery and textile art.
Embroidery Magazine is published six times a year and first rolled off the press in 1932 – making it one of the longest standing textile magazines published today. The magazine is devoted to all aspects of embroidery and stitched textiles in art, design, craft and textile culture. The publication has built a reputation for quality and integrity throughout its history, with a goal to bring its readers the latest, most exciting and innovative stitched work, says Exact Editions.
Each issue features in-depth profiles, artists’ essays, and reviews of the latest textile books and exhibitions, as well as news and listings of fashion and textile exhibitions in the UK.
The Embroideress was a quarterly magazine published by Pearsall and Company and the Old Bleach Linen Company from 1922 until 1939. The Embroideress published articles by embroidery teachers who were leading the way in terms of creativity in stitching. The magazine contained designs, reviews of books and embroidery exhibits, information on embroidery from different countries, articles about historical textiles or collections, and different embroidery techniques.
The issues are organised in stacks to facilitate easy navigation, whether browsing on a computer or mobile device. Subscribers can search across individual issues as well as the complete archive.
