Working in partnership with the Chinese General Practice Press, the journal publishes original research, editorials, reviews and case reports on general practice medicine, covering topics such as public health, chronic disease control and management, and community genetics and counselling.
Aimed primarily at doctors and researchers working in general practice and community health, Family Medicine and Community Health has an international reach, with a special focus on China and developing countries.
The journal is a fully open access publication, ensuring articles are openly available for all to read, and offers free publication for authors.
In an editorial introducing the journal, editor-in-chief Dr Li Li writes: “Worldwide, healthcare is undergoing drastic changes, driven largely by the increasingly recognised pivotal role of primary care in providing first-contact, comprehensive, coordinated, and continuity care to individuals and population at large. As an open access journal, FMCH strives to be an international forum and sounding board for the readership to exchange knowledge and insight of the rapidly changing landscape of healthcare worldwide.”
Dr Allison Lang, Publishing Director at BMJ, says: “FMCH aims to become a premier international scientific journal with a focus on family medicine and community health. We look forward to continuing our journey with Dr Li Li and the rest of the editorial team to achieve our shared vision for the journal.”
