Conde Nast Johansens announces brand evolution

Condé Nast Johansens has announced that 2013 and 2014 herald a digital evolution and brand modernisation for their guides to luxury accommodation throughout the world.

Spearheaded by Charlotte Evans, Group Publishing Director of Condé Nast Johansens, a re-imagined website, refreshed logo, and ultimately, three newly designed printed 2014 guides, as well as an additional digital-only venue guide will herald this brand update.

This will, say the publishers, further establish its position as the leading independently produced multi-media source for today’s traveller, sourcing hotels, spas and venues for leisure and business in the UK, Europe and the Americas.

With a focus on a younger audience, particularly 25-40 year olds, the refreshed guides and website will include contemporary and designer hotels, chic B&Bs and new destinations, as well as traditional favourites. Use of stunning imagery, editorial write-ups and destination information with top tips, will also ensure the new look is more synonymous with the Condé Nast brand values.

“This exciting re-energising of Condé Nast Johansens will meet the changing needs of our customers and hotel clients, and ensure that Johansens remains the internationally respected symbol of excellence and trusted reference point that it has become over the years. With ever-increasing use of the internet by independent travellers to book accommodation, obtain information and inspiration, it is the right time to rationalise our print editions, and offer a more enhanced environment for all our clients” says Charlotte Evans, Group Publishing Director.

The six guide books currently available (Recommended Hotels & Spas Great Britain & Ireland; Recommended Small Hotels, Inns & Restaurants Great Britain & Ireland; Recommended Hotels, Inns, Resorts & Spas The Americas, Atlantic, Caribbean & Pacific; Recommended Hotels & Spas Europe & The Mediterranean; Recommended Luxury Spas, and Recommended Venues for Conferences, Meetings & Special Events) will be condensed into three print editions to be published in the Autumn. Launching in October 2013, the three 2014 guides will comprise: one combined guide to recommended hotels and spas in UK, Europe and the Mediterranean; one guide to recommended hotels and spas in the Americas, Caribbean and Pacific; and one global guide to luxury spas. The new digital-only guide for global meeting, celebration and wedding venues will be available online from March 2013.
