Future launches Champions Of The Turf

Future plc, the international specialist media group, release Champions Of The Turf, the first ever Official Guide to QIPCO British Champions Day – the annual end of season championships that are this year taking place at Ascot Racecourse on Saturday October 19th.

This official souvenir magazine contains a review of every race in the 2013 QIPCO British Champions Series – taking in the Investec Derby, Royal Ascot, Glorious Goodwood and more – and previews all the races on British Champions Day that boast a combined prize money pot of £3.4m. On top of this there are a whole host of other features, including:

* Exclusive interviews with Ryan Moore, Clare Balding, Michael Owen and Sheikh Fahad Al Thani

* An in-depth look at 12 sires whose progeny have starred in the 2013 QIPCO British Champions Series and are set to line up on Champions Day

* We go behind the scenes at Ascot to find out what it takes to stage one of the UK's premier sporting events

* The Frankel Fairytale – a look back on the career of the undisputed star of Champions Day in 2011 and 2012, and the Hollywood-esque story surrounding those connected to him

Mark Robinson, Champions Of The Turf Editor, says, “We have always felt that there was a gap in the market for a consumer focused horse racing magazine. The UK now have their own end of season championships to rival those in France and the USA, which is only right considering British racing has been the greatest in the world for centuries. With the advent of QIPCO British Champions Series and Champions Day, and with the landscape of UK flat racing changing, now seemed like the perfect time.

“This Official Guide has been produced by us at Future with the help of British Champions Series and Great British Racing. It acts as a souvenir review of an enthralling 2013 season as well as a guide to Champions Day itself, while there are some really superb features and exclusive interviews with some of the sport's biggest names.”

Rod Street, Chief Executive of British Champions Series Ltd, says, “QIPCO British Champions Day has swiftly established itself as the most important flat race meeting in the calendar, home to the highest rated race in the world for the past two years, so it seems very appropriate that it should now have an Official Guide. We’re therefore delighted to have worked with Future plc, a leader in their field, in order to create a publication that captures the excitement, colour and prestige of Britain’s richest-ever race day.”

The guide will be on sale in retail outlets from Friday October 4th for £7.99 and can also be ordered online. A digital version is also available at the Apple Newsstand. It will also be available to buy at Ascot on QIPCO British Champions Day with a special black souvenir cover.
