Granta completes migration to ADvance

Granta Magazine, known for its publication of vital new writings and launching the careers of many great novelists and writers, has completed its move to Abacus e-Media’s ADvance audience development platform.

ADvance is a cloud-based audience development platform, designed to support all aspects of modern multi-channel publishing. According to Abacus e-Media, it combines the core functions of traditional subscription and circulation fulfilment systems with end-to-end product management (from initial product concept through to product release) into a single web-based platform.

Abacus e-Media says: The fully integrated audience database provides a complete customer view of a user record allowing for the collection of detailed demographic data, which is perfect for detailed audience segmentation. This permits a truly data-driven product development, acquisition and subscription renewal cycle which is unique in the publishing industry today.

Granta Magazine was founded in 1889 by students at Cambridge University as a student periodical of politics and literary enterprise, publishing early works from writers such as A.A. Milne and Ted Hughes. In 1979, Granta was reborn as a quarterly literary magazine, covering a diverse range of topics including large public and political events that have shaped the world we currently live in. Granta is respected around the world for ‘its mix of outstanding new fiction, reportage, memoir and photography in every issue’.

Using ADvance’s e-commerce functionality, Granta can tailor and target subscription packages by geography (example UK, Europe and ROW pricing options) or by demographic profiling, such as job title. Granta will continue to use Abacus’s bureau services for customer services and fulfilment.
