Guardian expands US election coverage

As the world's eyes turn to the United States for one of the most pivotal elections in a generation, the Guardian has announced it is expanding its news and politics podcasts over the next few weeks, offering global listeners comprehensive coverage, in-depth reporting, and behind-the-scenes insights.

The Guardian announces its expanded coverage as follows:

  • US Election Extra - Today in Focus: The Guardian’s podcast Today in Focus brings back its daily Election Extra episodes. Guardian journalist Lucy Hough will bring the latest news from the campaign trail, ensuring listeners stay fully informed as the race to the White House hits the final weeks.
  • Today in Focus: In addition to US Election Extra, on the main show, hosts Michael Safi and Helen Pidd will bring listeners in-depth episodes leading up to election day. On election night, Michael will be reporting on the results from the US, while Helen will be connecting with Guardian reporters across key battleground states.
  • Politics Weekly America: Every Friday host Jonathan Freedland and guests discuss the latest news from the election. At the end of October Jonathan will be heading to America, visiting key swing states to bring listeners all of the latest updates from both campaigns plus election night news from Washington.

The Guardian says listeners can catch episodes wherever they get their podcasts.
