Launch: Raspberry Pi Geek

Raspberry Pi Geek, a new alternate monthly magazine “full of great projects for the revolutionary computer”, goes on sale 27 September, priced £7.99.

According to distributors COMAG Specialist: Created with the aim of promoting the teaching of basic computer science in schools, the Raspberry Pi is a revolutionary credit card-sized, single-board computer that sells for $35!

Launched last year, the Raspberry Pi was aimed at school children, but soon became popular with everyone interested in computers. Selling more than one million units in 2012 and with some 150,000 being distributed monthly around the world, the Raspberry Pi is a global phenomenon, not seen since the early days of home computing.

Produced by the team behind Linux Magazine, Raspberry Pi Geek will be a one-stop shop for anyone who already has a Raspberry Pi device or is planning to buy one.

The first regular frequency publication about the device, Raspberry Pi Geek will be aimed at beginners and expert users alike, Raspberry Pi Geek will have features and projects to inspire readers to do more with the computer and the Linux operating system.

Packed with top technical tips and techniques, fun software and hardware projects to make, Raspberry Pi Geek will let users create their own inventions and custom solutions.

The launch issue of Raspberry Pi Geek will have a covermounted DVD with current versions of operating systems and tools for the Raspberry Pi to go hand-in-hand with the projects featured in the magazine, as well as programming skills to practice.
